CGMAD parts on the cabinets at the 18th GTI China Expo

The show

GTI China Expo is held in Area A of the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou — the city CGMAD manufactures in, which makes it the show a buyer can most easily combine with a factory visit. The floor covers amusement park rides, video games, water park and children's equipment and VR, so the machines carrying our parts are spread across several halls rather than gathered in one section.

Iridescent buttons and joystick balls

The iridescent finish shifts colour with the viewing angle, so a panel reads differently as a player moves in front of it. It appeared on this year's machines on both the dome buttons and the joystick balls, and the engraved side pattern on the buttons is lit from inside the body rather than printed.

The four-player cabinet below runs the same buttons with a plain ball top, which is the usual arrangement — the illuminated part is where the hand lands, and the shaft ball is chosen to match the panel art.

Control panels around the hall

The rest are ordinary working panels: a driving cabinet, a redemption row, a two-button video cabinet and a claw machine. They are the parts that sell in volume — illuminated dome buttons, large-face start buttons and ball-top joysticks — photographed as they were fitted rather than on a sample board.
