Coin selectors and coin acceptors

A coin selector, also called a coin acceptor, identifies an inserted coin or token by measuring its diameter, thickness and alloy signature, then sends a credit pulse to the game board when it matches a stored sample.

CGMAD supplies comparison-type units, which hold a physical sample coin and are changed by swapping that sample, and CPU units, which store several coin types electronically with a separate credit value for each. CPU units are taught by inserting the same coin fifteen to thirty times in programming mode, which is what lets one machine take two denominations or a coin and a house token.

Specify by coin or token type, supply voltage and mounting position. Front-panel models (SG-007) fit through the cabinet face, side-entry models (SG-618) mount inside the coin door, and comparison models (SG-001) suit single-coin or token-only machines. Supply voltage is commonly 12V DC but should be confirmed against the machine, and the pulse output has to match what the board expects — switching to ground or to supply.
